Access code expired - solution?

Hello,

we have purchased a Dorico license for our university department.
Unfortunately, we were not able to get the program installed on our computer in time. According to the communication, the access code is already old. I believe it has therefore expired.
Is there any way to get a new code and ensure a working program?
Or have we definitely lost the program and the money for it?

Thank you for your answers.

You will not have lost your money and the program. That’s what consumer laws are for!

I’m sure someone from the team will help soon (though it is the weekend).

I wan’t aware that the licence codes were time limited.

I haven’t heard from anyone on the team yet. But I only started this post here on the forum.
Do you know where else I should address my request?
Thank you.

This is the best place, hold on.

The team may be quite busy at the moment, but I’m sure that @dspreadbury will get to you in due course.

Did you buy the licence directly from Steinberg? I would try to contact them through the site where you bought it.

You just think so, or have you actually tried it?
In my case, I opened a support ticket to ask if I can wait to redeem a download access code, in this case an upgrade from Dorico 2 to Dorico 5, until a new version of Dorico is released to get into the grace period for a free upgrade.
After 3 days, I received the reply that I can use my download access code at any time in the future, even if the eLicenser service has shut down on 20 May, provided the USB-eLicenser is registered on MySteinberg.
So as I understand it, a download access code cannot expire.

In my case though this is the first install ever, i.e. I just purchased and then didn’t get to install for a month.

And I purchased directly from Steinberg.

So have you tried to use it?
