Activating "Computer Keyboard Input"

Hi all,

Forgive the noob question. I’m using Cubase 10 Pro, Version 10.0.20, on Windows 10.

I would like to find out if there is a way to enter notes using the computer keyboard.

I know that this function is possible, there is even a page in the manual that instructs how to do this:

However I can’t seem to find the “Computer keyboard input” button! It is not in the score editor, neither is it in the Piano Roll. I attached a screenshot of the piano roll here.

In the score editor, I can’t find “step input” and “MIDI Input” either.

I must be overlooking something but I’m not sure what. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Press Alt+K to enable the virtual keyboard.

Thanks for the reply! I’m aware of that- but is there a way we can use the virtual keyboard to input notes? Now the virtual keyboard is just playing the sounds as I press the keys but not doing anything else.

And I’m still confused as to why I can’t seem to find the button “Computer keyboard input” anywhere in my Cubase…
