Is there any reason to hold old/expired trial licenses?
It would be very logic to remove them automatically a month after the expiration time.
Secondly there could be a button that allows to remove license if it isn’t active (of course).
I have Dorico Pro 4 trial and Dorico Pro 5 trial and the button “Buy” for both, but I already bought Dorico Pro 5. Why this mess?
And more… If I don’t use a product, it is licensed on me and I have all papers with the code. I would like to remove license from my account and be able to activate it whenever I need. Or maybe my son will need - I would like to give the paper with the code and he will use it on his system. That would be nice.
So there is only one button needed in Steinberg Activation Manager - Remove. Right after the button Activate. And the Remove button would be disabled if license is active on this computer.
But trial versions should disappear after they expires. I’m sure no one buy the product from the Activation Manager
I’ve just bought Cubase Pro 14 (upgraded from 13) and of course I have Cubase Pro 14 Trial (now not activated) and I have Cubase Elements 14 Trial (also not activated), but they both should be removed.
I thought german people are very punctual, orderly, pedantic, but in Steinberg protucts case I’m embarrassed to be such a pedant
Excuse me if you can
BTW Cubase 14 is fantastic! I thought I will need two months that is available to test new version, but I didn’t reach the end of one month to make a decision. THANK YOU, Steinberg team!!! <3
Hi,
the trial licenses will disappear automatically from the Activation Manager after a few months. They do not have any impact on your system. However, if you don’t want to wait you can ask the support team to remove it asap. Only Steinberg can do this…
If you want Steinberg to add a Remove button to the Activation Manager or delete the trial versions as soon as they are not needed anymore - please add the tag feature request to your thread. In that case, you could
demand “Ich will Ordnung!” (I want things to be tidied up) if you want to adress German devs directly
Nope! Dorico Pro 4 and Dorico Pro 5 trial licenses are still in the list, even if their trial period expired more than a few months ago.
Here is my situation:
And for what I have two licenses of Dorico SE? I need to throw them out. Simple Remove button would make me happy

You activated two different versions / builds of Dorico SE - that’s why you have got two trial licenses.
And yes, a Remove button would be really helpful, indeed.
In the meantime just open a support ticket and ask them to remove it manually. If there are hundreds of tickets asking for a clean up - maybe this will accelerate things, too. Who knows…
Strange is that the one Dorice SE comes from Dorico 4 - I downloaded it before I upgrade from 3.5. The second one comes the same way - I downloaded Dorico 5 before I upgraded license. SE versions are free, so I just wanted to test runs it good on my laptop. And it was good, of course But now I don’t need them listed.
