Adapting Sinewave Tool to 1-Bar Periods with Changing Tempos in Cubase

Hey fellow Cubase users,

I’ve been experimenting with the Sinewave Tool in Cubase to create interesting velocity curves for my MIDI notes. However, I’m facing a bit of a challenge when it comes to adapting the sinewave to fit a 1-bar period, especially in the context of changing tempos throughout the track.

By default, the Sinewave Tool operates in real-time units like minutes, seconds, etc., which isn’t very conducive to aligning with musical time divisions such as quarter notes, eighth notes, and full bars. Given that my track features numerous tempo changes, manually adjusting the sinewave for every tempo shift becomes quite a cumbersome task.

Has anyone found a way to tweak the Sinewave Tool or any other workaround to make it follow a 1-bar period that can seamlessly adapt to changes in tempo? My goal is to achieve smoother velocity transitions for my MIDI notes without the headache of recalibrating the sinewave for each tempo alteration.

I’m open to any suggestions or insights you might have on this matter. Let’s discuss and share our experiences in dealing with this particular challenge in Cubase. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards!

Hi,

Is the Grid set to Bars in the Key Editor, you are using to draw the Sine?
