Add "insert plugin" key command

I’ve fooled around with X/Y coordinates but I don’t have a clue what I’m doing!

Just to confirm that we can’t bind a key command to load a certain plugin into the next empty insert slot?

Coming from S1 its VERY easy to create a tiny macro that can be binded to a key combination which then can be triggered via stream deck.

Is this truly not possible in Cubase?

While Cubase may give the impression you can control everything in the DAW using shortcuts or a MIDI controller due to the large amount of stuff you see in the Mapping Assistant and the Shortcuts window, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The most you get is partial functionality of certain things like:

  • You can bypass, deactivate, bring up, and remove track inserts but can’t insert them.
  • You have commands to control a good portion of aspects of Channel Strip inserts but you can’t activate each effect.
  • You cannot navigate between sections of windows using the keyboard. Apparently, this was possible in Cubase 13 but it was removed for some reason.

Among other things.

That is such a disappointment for me :frowning:

Trying to move away from S1 after the fender shenanigans but they’ve nailed some key workflows so well I can’t go back to other DAWs.

The lack of keyboard-focused workflow is quite baffling for a professional-targeted application.

+1 for this useful time saver

this is something i used to use heavily in reaper. too bad cubase doesn’t have this. being able to just add your go to FX would be a big time saver.

Seems like you are on a secret mission to spread joy all over the forum? This is like the xth time I get to read an old thread revived by a "Still not fixed"or “DAW xy has this feature since the beginning of time” comment of yours.

Well, you gotta make your voice heard type beat.
