Addictive Drums 2 audio recorder in Cubase

A question for anyone using XLN’s Addictive Drums 2 in Cubase (I’m on Cubase 12 Pro but this is probably common to all versions of Cubase).

I press the AD2 drum kit pieces a few times to create a pattern and I see the audio record (bottom left) function operating. AD2 creates a wav sample. I drag and drop the sample into an audio track in my Cubase project. All good.

Then I try out a different pattern, clicking the AD2 drum kit pieces again and see the audio record operating. AD2 creates a wav sample. I drag and drop the sample. It drops the first sample, not the new one. Gah!

XLN customer support acknowledged the issue and gave this reply just now: “In Cubase I think it’s possible to work around this by dragging the audio and dropping it onto Cubase’s Pool Window. Then drag the audio clips from the Pool Window into your project.

I don’t know how to drag the AD2 audio sample into the Cubase Pool Window.

Is anyone out there using the AD2 audio record function in Cubase successfully? Please can you let me know how you’re getting it to work?

Thanks folks!

I don’t use the audio record function of AD2, but is it much more of a chore to just drag the midi from AD2 onto a track and then use Cubase render in place?

Hi and thanks for this. Agreed, but also nice to experiment with the full functionality.
