Addictive Drums 2, Very Slow Response In Cubase 12

Once I have AD2 loaded, almost every mouse click within it results in a 5-10 second spinning disk before it responds. Everything still seems to work, but a handful of edits take forever!

Anyone else having this problem? Is this a known issue?

No problems here.

Do you have the VST2 or VST3 version activated for the track?

From what I can tell, only the VST3 version is available. It’s the only version listed in the Plugin Manager.

And from the Inspector, when I click on the instrument menu, I see /// to the right of the instrument name. Am I right to assume that’s the VST3 version?

Edit: XLN support just got back to me. It appears Cubase doesn’t support XLN’s OpenGL hardware acceleration. Disabling that seems to have fixed the sluggish response.

Glad you got it figured out.

@BezowinZ I can confirm this, noticed the same laggy behavior (Cubase 12, macOS).

Thank you for taking the time to post the solution, that solved the problem!

All the best

The solution to this Addictive and cubase problem is very simple, what you need to do is to disable the GUI settings, but you will need to do that in another DAW like FL Studio, once you do that go to cubase and open it, it will work perfectly.100% working
