I’m trying to add a double bar line after a pickup measure and I can’t figure out how. The help files say to use Ctl-Shift-N, but as soon as I hit Ctl-Shift playback starts. If I add the N it opens a new project. I’m finding these help files really lacking. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? And, I still can’t insert that double bar line…
The instructions with Ctrl+Shift+N are about setting all barlines and the final barline of each flow. For one barline:
- Select the barline you want to make double
- Type Shift+B and enter double or || (two vertical pipe characters)
You can also input barlines from the panel on the right, in the Bars and Barlines section.

Here are the latest instructions for inputting barlines, including an example for double barlines – these are for when you want the occasional double barline as an “override” to the default barlines that fill most of the music:
Here are instructions for changing the barline at the end of the flow (typically, a final barline)
And here are instructions for changing the default barline type throughout the whole flow (for example, if you want almost all barlines to be tick barlines)
