Hello everyone!
I teach guitar and want to add an extra bar on the beginning of the score, that shows the notes used on the piece. To help students. Something like on the score below. Is that possible on Dorico? How?
Welcome to the forum!
You could create a second flow with the notes you want to show. Then, edit the first page template to include a music frame showing only that 2nd flow where you want it.
The page will look like this in engrave mode:
Have a look at the attached file to see how this was done.
-The extra frame was unlinked and set to show Flow 2.
-A template change was needed to properly display the edited First template – I do not fully understand why, but there is probably some reason ![]()

Couldn’t you also INSERT a single bar to do what you want by placing the caret at the very beginning of the Flow and using SHIFT + B then 1 in the popup that appears?
That is indeed possible, and very straight forward:
-System break after first bar
-Bar number change in the second bar
-Engrave mode, note spacing tool to move the single bar to the right
-Engrave mode, staff spacing tool to move the other systems a bit down.
This method takes some manual editing. If you want to reuse it, the templateing way with the extra flow might be a better solution.

Thank you for the replies!
@LAE your first solution was super easy to execute! I´m sticking with it ![]()
