Sometimes I just like it, if the vibraphone player already can see visually that he has to take a bow. Therefore I’d like to ask if there is any possibility to add a ‘bow’ symbol into a vibraphone score?
The other question: where to find a good ‘bow-symbol’ for scoring?
I only found stuff like that:
Depending on how large you want the image to be, you could create a custom playing technique comprising the image of a bow - either as an image or as a glyph if you can find a suitable one.
You can input custom playing techniques just like the default ones.
Of course Lillie - thanx.
I made a stupid mistake. I didn’t change the ‘category’ into ‘glyph’ - hence I didn’t see the pencil tool. Sorry and thanx again
Not to derail your original question, but I’ve been told that a great majority of percussionists prefers words to pictograms for things like this.
It’s in Bravura font at this glyph position: U+E7DE
That’s a weird bow: the tip points the wrong way
Indeed! Looks more like a machete
Hahaha! Indeed
A machete on a Vibraphone: now that might be an interesting sound…
…or a great concert-ending visual, like a rock star destroying a guitar.
It’s so small that it’s hard to tell exactly what it is. “Take violin bow” leaves no question. Music engraving should not deal in “toy notation”.
Yes, looks good.
