Adding pick up bar in Dorico 5

I have written a song using Dorico 5 (I am new to Dorico 5, having previously used Finale). I would like to add a pick up bar and a corresponding bar at the end of the song. I found one method on Youtube but when I added the pickup bar it affected the last bar of the frame on page 1. Can anyone tell me a way to add the pick up and end bars without impacting the rest of the song?

If you already have this:

… then it’s just a question of deleting the rests from the bar. To do this:

  1. Go to the Insert mode icon and hold it down. Select the bottom icon: “Global Adjustment of Current Bar”.

Then select the rests and delete them.

Then turn OFF Insert Mode!

For the final bar, you could do the same thing.

(Just curious) When did you decide you needed a pickup bar? and what did it look like before you reached that conclusion?

The song is accompanied by guitar and I decided that the pickup bar helped with the rhythm of the intro.
