This is an SSAA piece, the last page. (former finale user.) I need to add the “|----10 seconds-----|” to each staff to indicate how long the passage should last. There is no time signature for these measures. I already entered the text “whispering always” using Shift+X. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
You could potentially use a horizontal line, attached to rhythmic positions and inserted in the staff, with text in the middle?
You probably want to also put some musical material in those bars, perhaps notes with hidden stems and hidden noteheads, since the lines themselves won’t enforce any particular spacing values.

Without being in front of the computer, this is a job for the Line Tool (right panel in Write Mode). You can place Text into the middle of a line (in the bottom panel).

Just wanted to add that when I put the lines and text in, it moves all my staves wider apart and that presents another problem. I don’t want to have to move all the staves by hand in engrave mode. Any work around?
Here’s a line that you can use. You can import it with the Library->Library Manager.

This is great! However, (and I apologize in advance) I have no clue how to import this into my file. And I have —Version 5.1.70.2200 (Nov 18 2024)
Dorico 5 AudioEngine Version 5.6.42.5— and when I opened your link it said I don’t have all the same fonts, etc. that your version has. I’m just not that good at engraving. Composing I’m good at! LOL
I changed the font. If you open my file. Select one of the lines, then click the pencil below the lines in the Line Tool. (see pict 1) Then the Line should be selected.
Click the star icon (save as default) at the bottom left of pict 2. Now open your own file and the Line should appear under the Line tool.
