That’s the whole problem of the different keyboards and with software like Premiere Pro from Adobe, it’s exactly the same.
If I had to point out (given that I no longer have a 20-year-old memory) one slightly annoying thing with dorico is that you always have to have your notebook filled with workarounds or else have an internet connection to find certain things.
for example I have a page with hide: barline, key, notehead, etc sometimes it’s with alpha, sometimes scale, sometimes in the propeties…
But that’s the price I’m thinking of paying for software of this quality.

As a French user (and French keyboard layout user) I chime in to say several things:
• Although I deal quite a lot with unicode characters, I never had to use it to enter a tuplet. Something is wrong with the way it’s been searched for. I’d say the safest way is to open Preferences > Keyboard shortcuts, type N-olet or tuplet in the search field and look for the popover command…
• When you modofy your user keycommands_fr.json file, you don’t have to worry about it when you update because the whole user folder gets copied to be used with the new version.
and the [!] is alt+33.
you perhaps didn’t know that there are several french keyboard! In switzerlans it’s a swiss french keyb and dorico doesn’t not propose it.
In swiss french keyboard to write in a text a “!” we must use a combination with [shift ]
and in dorico it doesn’t work , it’s why I use alt+33
• You’re certainly right with modify the keycommands_fr.json file, I changed my computer when I changed D3.5 to D4.0 so I copy manually the file . So great to know that it’s automatic!
