[Phenomenon]
After selecting two clips on different tracks, they cannot be played simultaneously in the lower zone.
[Steps]
- Select two clips on different tracks.
- Display the selected zone.
- In clip edit mode, select [Edit all clips].
- Play from the start of the event to the end of the event.
[Results]
Only clips from the higher (lower numbered) track are played, multiple playback is not possible.
You cannot check the timing of twin guitar harmonies, etc.
*Playback is possible without any problems in Cubase Artist 11.
Hi,
I believe you are talking about Audio Events, not clips.
I believe you are talking about the Sample Editor.
Not really, you can choose which Audio Event is Active (Activate Clip for Editing from the toolbar), i.e. which one do you hear while Audition.
Hi,
Regarding Activate Clip for Editing from the toolbar.
Which toolbar? Where is it located?
Hi.
That’s it. It’s in the lower zone.
Hi,
They don’t audition together. But you can choose one, which one to edit.
Artist 11 allows simultaneous editing.
It could have something to do with the Cubase preference files. My Cubase 12 is a mess when having more than one clip in the Sample Editor, while my Cubase 14 works relatively okay.
There is also a difference between auditioning and regular playback.
If you use this button…
… then you will always only hear the clip in the foreground. If you use the regular play/stop transport commands you ought to be able to hear all clips during playback. Just make sure to use this option for the solo mode in the editor:

Dangit. I see that this option is not present in Cubase Artist 14. Possibly a Pro feature only.
Thank you for the advice.
There is not The Solo Editor mode button in my Artist 14.0 sample editor.
However, the Cubase Artist 14.0 operation manual has a related description. *Attached image
By the way, I have already reinstalled and reset the initial settings file.
It seems that it was not installed properly.
