Again in the middle of a session just vanished!

Latest version of Cubase 15 freshly installed and this has happened twice now. I didnt even have any plugins running it was just a wav file on a single track no effects. I pressed play barely a minute in it froze then cubase vanished into a puff of smoke like houdini…grrr!

this is the DMP file.

All of my plugins are up to date and legit purchased no pirated anything.

Cubase 15.0.5 64bit2025.11.21 1.38.05.164.dmp (1.0 MB)

Is it my blumming apollo twin again? i dont remember having this situation with my clarett 4pre.

This dump file shows the same stack as a crash mentioned in another thread. I’ll see if I can dig up that thread.

SOFTWARE_NX_FAULT_INVALID_POINTER_EXECUTE_c0000005_ntdll.dll!RtlpTpTimerCallback

The user in that thread was also on that version of Windows 10

Oh, nvm. You are also the person who mentioned it in the other thread. Confusing when there are multiple threads on the same topic.

I recommend reporting to Steinberg as a bug/crash. Posting in the forum is not the same as reporting a bug. Instructions are in the pinned threads.

After raking through the wonderful web im seeing familier crashes within Kontakt inside of Cubase. Something is making them both collide together in a not so pleasant way.

Also something about a graphics card. Its all a bit confusing when ya know absolutely nothing about the inner workings of a PC and lack the mental power to learn.

Apologies if im multi posting its just its getting a tad bit frustrating.

I always send the report to Steinberg when prompted to when opening Cubase.

I just have to hold on a little longer. When i get my new PC all should be ok again…hopefully

Are you running any other software while trying to use Cubase–particularly, stuff that uses audio/video?

Oh! my internet browser is running in the background…oh! and sometimes i forget my vegas pro video editing software is open in the background could that be the culprit for causing a panic in my PC?

This seems to make sense. Have i been experiencing a complete “DUH!” moment all this time? Oh my lord lol seems a bit extreme Cubase would literaly vanish though but i repeat i know very little of the ins and outs and on goings underneath the hood of a PC im just a musician haha.

Bro. Yes, that could be the problem. I doubt that it’s your browser (but that can sometimes cause other issues).

It’s complicated.:expressionless_face: You don’t need to know everything about computers–but some basic understanding is helpful, so you don’t accidentally cause yourself problems.
