I would need a feedback . I just assembled my new PC (with asus X299 edition 30) with windows10- The mobo chipset is by default in RAID mode.I am not so expert, but i think i can leave the RAID mode without activating any data protection, or i can switch to AHCI mode.
For having the best performance with cubase, which is the best choice? I have a new SSD drive 1 TB as OS, but no applications are installed yet, so i can easily reinstall win10. Now i have AHCI mode…should i turn on RAID?
Thanks for a feedback
A RAID array needs at least two drives. Just stick with AHCI.
“but i think i can leave the RAID mode without activating any data protection”
That is correct, you can still use RAID mode with a single drive. It will make no appreciable difference (anymore, it used to a while back so you will find older news like that but its no longer issue it once was for NVME SSDs).
“, or i can switch to AHCI mode.”
Yes, though it will require a bit of fiddling or windows 10 will not boot. You need to set it to boot up in safe mode, restart, make the change, boot safe mode, driver will install, then boot again back to normal - from memory, google it and you will find it simply enough.
