Align coda symbol vertically in “D. S. al Coda” marker

I’m using the “D.S. al Coda” setting where it shows the coda symbol instead of the word “Coda” and I want the coda symbol to be center-aligned on the line but there doesn’t seem to be a way, or am I overlooking something?

I’ve tried to change the setting for vertical alignment in Engraving Options > Repeat Markers > Appearance (or whatever this is called in English) but there doesn’t seem to be any change.

Is it possible to change this at all?

It’ll depend on how the coda symbol is scaled, but it definitely works here:

I’ve set the coda symbol scaling factor to 200%. But whatever I set there, changing the vertical alignment doesn’t change anything visually.

Given the issue isn’t reproducible in a new project, you may need to upload a cutdown project that exhibits the issue in order to get a helpful answer. And I guess if you’re not using the latest version of Dorico, share which version you’re on (in case there was previously a bug in this department).

I can reproduce this in any new project – see attached (not sure if it exports all engraving settings etc.).

I’m using Dorico 5.1.50

So far as I know, that engraving option only applies at an actual coda marker, rather than at a jump. We could probably extend the logic to respect that option in other situations as well, so I’ll make a note of this and we’ll look into it in a future version.

How come it works in my screenshot above, then?

A good question – perhaps there are some combinations of options in which it applies, and others where it does not. I’d need to look into it further to figure it out.

Would this Engraving Option have any effect?

Edit:
Oops! I interpreted “line” as “barline” and also somehow mistook vertical for horizontal.
Eyes that don’t see!!

Can you send me an example of your working setting?

I’m no longer near my computer, but I definitely tried from the factory Solo Piano template (albeit not in the screenshot above), and the only two settings I changed were the scale factor for coda symbol and the baseline as above.

Dorico 5.1.51, Mac, two of three versions of macOS behind.
