Aligning 6/8 and 2/4

Different meters in different staves at different measures

Is there a way to create measures in a single (or multiple) staff with a different meter, but still aligns with the measures in other staves? I can create a new time signature on selected staves, but I’m not sure how to ‘make it fit’ with the prevailing meter in the other staves. I’m trying to do something like the picture where the changes do not occur at the beginning of the example. Also, eventually the parts which are in 2/4 will go back to 6/8 so i need more time signatures in those locatio…

Is it possible to handle a (triolic) 2 quarternote (2/4) bar like a 6 eightnote (6/8) bar simultaneously?

It is not so rare, that composers when composing for instance many triolic eightnotes in a 2 quarter (2/4) bar just switch sometimes even only in one of the systems to a six eightnote (6/8) bar, expecting, that both bar remain the same length, what would mean that in one system (where is still a 2 quarter (2/4) bar) a quarter (1/4) has the same length as a punctuated quarter (1/4+1/8) at the same time in the system which is defined as six eightnote (6/8) bar. What is the best method to write this? [image] I got this far by setting 2/3 and using hidden triplets; [image] Is this the correct/best method? Can I get ( ) around 2/4 ?
