For some reason FIle>New Project is grayed out. I think the last time I used that was a day or two ago, no problem then.
The problem exists even in starting up in Cubase Safe Mode (SHIFT-ALT-CTRL during Cubase boot up), choosing to disable all preferences and not use any 3rd party plugins.
File>New Library, or Open New Library, or Recent, or Open, or Close all are not grayed out, and I have been able to use File Recent no problem at all multiple times today.
I’ve got the same in both Nuendo 13 and Cubase 14 (on the Hub). I have to click on the Create Empty button at the bottom to create a new blank project.
File > New Project is activated if you select it from the menu of an open project, but if you click on it, it reactivates the Hub, where you have to click on Create Empty…
Good point, thanks for clarifying, my OP had to do with opening from the Hub (OP now edited).
Same here, from the Hub.
That’s also how it works here.
Trying to figure out if this is new, I think almost definitely it is - I opened a new project in the last day or two, almost certainly from the menu of an open project, and I know I was not presented with the Hub then as it seems we are today.
Were there changes to Cubendo in the last day or two?
Or am I simply mistaken, maybe it’s always been that one can’t open a new project without having to click on Create Empty at the bottom of the hub? …
I was wondering if you had to select a template to make it active, but, nope, that doesn’t, either. It does change the Create Empty button to just Create, though. Maybe it just isn’t applicable since you either have to create an empty project or create a project from a template??? (If that were the case, though, they should really remove it from the menu. Alternately, they could make it bring up a screen that had you choose between creating an empty project or selecting a template.)
