I just installed Dorico 6.10 Now all my music is screwed up regarding the drum set. The ride cymbal is now a snare drum. What happened? Can I uninstall Dorico 6.1??? or is it that automatic playback update that is causing this? Please help!
We’re investigating some similar reports at the moment. I’m sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Can you cut down a project that’s now playing back incorrectly for you, and attach it here so we can take a look?

Ok. What does “cut down” mean? I do have a project to send you. Actually I have 80 of them. I also have a work around but involves updating every Dorico project that I have created over a year ago.
On a copy of your project, remove players and flows until only the problem parts remain. In your case, probably just leave the percussion. Then upload that file.

I have attached a project with only the drum set player and staff by removing all the other parts. Notice when you play this, the ride cymbal is a snare drum. Also notice that when you click the ride cymbal in “Write” mode you will hear a ride cymbal sound, but when you play it, you will hear the snare drum. This has infected all my music. I did find a work around which is to create a new drum set (full) staff and copy the old staff notes to the new one. You will need to change the snare line in the percussion kit to a stem up. This was also changed in 6.1 and is incorrect for the snare. The issue is the same with all VST players included with Dorico and with the Garritan Aria player as well.

I’m not the one to solve your specific problem. Doubtless @dspreadbury will get around to this, or perhaps one of the many Percussion gurus on the forum will chip in.
All, I think I found the issue with the drum set wrong instruments being played. Its in the Percussion Maps. Go to the map that your drum instrument is using. Look for the drum set instrument that is not being played by the right instrument. on the bottom right bring up the pull down for the instrument that is chosen. In all cases so far I noticed a duplicate instrument i.e. 2 Ride Cymbals (low). Choose the 2nd one. The first one (so far) is not the right instrument. I don’t remember there being redundant instruments in the 6.0 version.
I found one that was not a duplicate (High Hat (Pedal)). So I just tried re-selecting it and it worked. It replaced the snare drum that was playing. So you jus might try just re-selecting the instrument.
