All VSTs Should Close When Cubase Has Been Closed

I’m not sure if this topic warrants a feature request tag or not. But i’m just wondering if there is any explanation as to why some VSTs do not close when closing the Cubase application and remain opened on the Cubase Hub page ?

I personally wish that all VSTs would close down once I hit the close button on Cubase.

Does anyone agree ?

Hi,

You don’t mean Cubase has been closed, but quit the project, right?

Aren’t the remaining plug-ins sitting on any Control Room bus (for example, Monitor)?

I just did some further testing and yes it is the VSTs that are loaded as inserts in the Control Room which remain opened once closing the Cubase project back out to the Cubase Hub.

What is the reason for this behaviour ?

If you close to hub rather than quit the program there’s not much point closing them as presumably you’ll be opening another project which will need to reopen the same plugs.

Hi,

Control Room setting is global. So it doesn’t make sense to close and reopen them.

That’s understandable, but would a control room inserts settings file not make sense ?

I feel like the additional clicking to close everything outweighs the additional loading time for control room inserts, but that’s just my personal opinion.

When in the hub minimising it will minimise all the plugs so I never feel any need to close them (but they are on a second screen for me so maybe that’s the difference)

Yeah, maybe I would feel less distressed if they did not continuously cover over the top of the Cubase Hub

Those plugins are still active for previews from the Hub, so they are still active and in use when you are at the Hub.

Makes sense, I did forget to consider that new feature as I haven’t used it yet.
