Now that I have booklet print working on 11x17 bifold, I have a suggestion. It would be good to have the preview in Print appear as it actually prints, instead of shrinking the frames. Also, if I could see the frames from within Print mode
If you’re going to be exporting to PDF, I would recommend looking at the pages in Engrave mode, rather than Print mode, as that gives you a much more accurate view of how the eventual PDF will appear. (We cannot easily make the print preview displayed in Print mode match the exported PDF, because it can only use the settings of the chosen printer, and PDF export is not a printer.)
You can hold down the ` key to temporarily hide all the non-printing items that are shown in the view, as a kind of instant print preview, from Write or Engrave modes.
oops ran out.
where I can see the left-facing and right-facing pages I could more easily adjust frames so I have a wide margin to the left of right-facing pages and to the right of left-facing pages to allow for holepunch, while allowing the other margins to extend within 1/4" of the outside of the page to take full advantage of the printable area.
Right now I’m still trying to figure out how to set the frames in Engrave mode.
Two years in, and somehow I missed this all along! Every day’s a school day here.
