An eLicenser problem occurred... still!

Yeah, this is what i’ve got:
”Your eLicenser initialization is hanging…” and blah blah…

How you get rid of this?

You need to be a bit more specific than just “blah blah”.

When does this error message show up and on what platform are you?

Do you still have eLicenser based products on your machine installed?

First of all have you installed the latest release of the Steinberg Download Assistant, as this will also install the latest required extra tools (Activation Manager ,etc.)

I get this everytime. I just upgraded Cubase 9.5 artist —> Cubase 14 artist.
Someone told me that you will not need that eLicenser dongle anymore, since Cubase 14 won’t need it.

I don’t thing i have any other products that need eLicenser…

This is not a big problem, only little annoying one.

You can uninstall the eLicenser app itself then - just make sure your SDA is the current version first.

Hello,
I would like to help with a few ideas.
You only need the eLicenser dongle if you have licenses stored on it that were not transferred with Steinberg Licensing.

A quick note, in case you don’t already know:
The old eLicenser-based software can therefore continue to be used as long as it runs.

I have actually transferred almost all of my older licenses to the new Steinberg Licensing system. There are a few duplicates, meaning they were transferred but do not appear as new licenses. And there are older ones that cannot be transferred. So I still need the dongle for those.

If you failed to transfer your licenses via the vouchers under “My Steinberg” before May 20, 2025, you will unfortunately no longer have the opportunity to do so.

Otherwise try to insert the USB eLicenser and restart DownloadManager.

In DownloadManager is an option to read the eLicenser.

Maybe try to disactivate that too, if you don’t need USB eLicenser.
