Hi. Sorry for posting this here but I wasn’t sure where else to post. I have the above hardware interface which is just gathering dust. I want to use it simply to add more inputs for my RME Fireface UCX via ADAT. I don’t want to use the in built FX. I’ve read the manual but I don’t understand how to set it up so the 8 hardware inputs are output to ADAT (I don’t need to monitor the inputs). I know the unit retains its setup on power down I just don’t know how to set up the connections using the MR tools software. If anyone has done this, please could you help. Many thanks in advance. - Open the MR Console App
- Under the VIEW area on the LEFT, click the ADAT/OPTICAL looking button so it will open the ADAT ports so you can see them in the mixer
- Click the ADAT OUTPUT 1-2 tab on the Right under outputs to select it. Pan MIC input 1 on the mixer L and MIC input 2 to R.
Select ADAT Tab 3-4 on the right and then go to MIC 3 and Pan L and Mic 4 R. Do the same for the next ADAT tab and then pan the MIC input L and R respectively till you get through all 8 mics - Make sure the ORANGE VOLUME slider is set to 0dB on all the tabs as well as all your mic inputs on the tabs.
- CLick SETUP on the Left, WORDCLOCK should be the MR unless you want the RME clocking the MR816X, if so you will need a wordclock cable to do that.
6. Set your Clocksoure to INT, ADAT etc to what you want as your clock master. Im just using an ADAT optical out cable to my Apollo TWIN(Has no ADAT OUTPUT), the MR stays as Master and the TWIN is set to clock from ADAT - IF I were you I would run an ADAT cable out from the RME to the MR and set the MR to clock via ADAT. Send the ADAT cable out on the MR to your RME. This way the RM is Master Clock so if you change your project sample rate on the RME the MR816 will follow
