I currently own Nuendo 11. I didn’t upgrade to 12 or 13 in the past, as I didn’t feel I’d need the new features at the time. However, I’ve just bought a Novation LaunchKey and found out it is only fully integrated to Cubase/Nuendo 12 and 13…
I can’t afford paying the 300 euros upgrade now - I’m located in Brazil and the currency exchange from Reais is hard on me. Also, for some reason Steinberg will only allow me to pay in Euros, which has a higher exchange than Dollars. Is there any chance of a sale coming up in the next few months to make my life easier?
That’s not a bad idea!
SB have always been good at discounting to grow their userbase, by offering specials (which only recently just occurred) but doing it more often might engage new users to the community.
The software has always been solid but of course some features can be quite flakey at times, and this is why users need to engage constructively and not whinge or complain when things aren’t working, particularly with newer versions where only a hotfix is available (hint V13) so here’s looking forward to what the V13 product cycle can deliver!
I don’t think anything has been decided/announced by Steinberg yet, but I would be surprised if there wasn’t some kind of “last chance to upgrade” sale somewhere down the road.
As a Brazilian, I would recommend checking out the Sweetspot store:
They’re often able to offer slightly better deals than if you were to make an international purchase. There’s probably other similar stores for people in other countries, but I suggest doing your own research on them before purchasing anything.
As a fellow brazilian, I know your pain.
I hope you can get a great price my friend, good luck and hang in there!
Huh, I knew SweetSpot but I didn’t know they also offer upgrades and crossgrades! I originally got my Cubase license via an UR photo contest Steinberg held years ago and crossgraded it to Nuendo later… I think they didn’t offer upgrades at the time.
I’ll check both and decide later where to do it. Thanks a lot!
