Any good tutorials/advice for live looping performances?

I am interested in watching (or reading) some tutorials on users who excel with live looping performances (similar to Ableton looping).

What I am mainly interested in is how people are making good songs that don’t just loop the same part for its entirety (unless it sounds good).

In Cubase, I didn’t find that many ways to switch up a looping part:

  • Use folder tracks with muting/soloing technique. (doesn’t vibe with a live performance unless I set up mute/solo tracks with remote controls)

  • use the Arranger track… also doesn’t really vibe with live looping, too much mouse work, maybe. Maybe I just need to see someone doing it well..

What other ways are there? What are you using?

thanks

The best advice I would give is not to use Cubase for live performance.

It really isn’t designed for that job, and it’s not the best option. Try something like Cantabile or Mainstage instead.

Ok, sounds good.
Already, I am running into the issue of MIDI notes being cut off while looping. I thought there was an option to disable that behavior, but I can’t seem to find it. It’s not going to work for sure without that.
