I hope I’m just being stupid, but having only 6 pre-fader inserts is a major shortcoming of the mixer, so…is there a way to make the 2 post-fader inserts pre-fader? Thanks!

Damn. It’s a major limitation, and there’s a reason why every other DAW has more. Bummer. I hope Steinberg has some major revisions up for 9.5 (no new features – I mean simply making/expanding what’s there to be cohesive, totally working, and up-to-date), because it has so many little issues like these that are significant limitations. It’s great software that really needs a thorough work-through to sort this kind of stuff out.
