Anyone using the iRig Keys I/O 25?

I just saw this controller and i am interested in buying this thing because it has a audio interface built in. Does anybody here use it with cubasis? And if yes, can you recommend it? Can the diealer be used for patch selection and volume?

Hi pummelfee,

M-Audio’s iRig Keys I/O 25 comes bundled with Cubasis LE (allowing you to unlock Cubasis LE from demo mode via connecting the device to the iPad).
As of yet, remote control support is not supported by Cubasis, but on our list for later.

Best,
Lars

This was 2018… any chance this remote is done by now?

Hi @Septimo,

MIDI Learn, Mackie Control, and HUI protocol support were added to Cubasis with the 3.3 update back in May 2021.

You can learn more in our tutorial linked below.

hi LSlowak…

yeah.. I get that.. but I still cannot get the iRig keys I/O to control anything but the keys.. and the transport is not being learned at all… Am I missing something here?

thanks!

Hi Septimo,
I just checked your keyboard online and saw it is a IK Multimedia product, since OS18 update their SampleTank IAA app stopped working on all iPads except for the iPad Mini, the internal midi link is broken, communications with IK are a complete waste of time, I have also read on different forums that IK Multimedia products are being taken off the App Store!

Try this one thing - download the free app called Midi Wrench, launch it and with your keyboard connected, launch Cubasis and try using MIDI Learn, all the learnable parameters will be green until you assign a MIDI Learn control, MIDI Wrench may just help you achieve your goal, it is noted as being a Swiss Army Knife for MIDI, this app will also monitor all incoming and outgoing MIDI communications and will give you an indication of what’s going on. If everything turns out successfully, then just launch MIDI Wrench and leave it running in the background.
Good luck.
Mike

Hi @Septimo

In addition to following @fixitmania53 tipps and tricks, I strongly suggest getting in touch with our friends @ IK Multimedia to ask them how to properly connect their iRig Keys I/O 25 to the iPad.

If required, I’m at hand to hand over promo codes for testing purposes to them.

To use the feature in Cubasis, please follow the steps shown in our tutorial and/or take a look at the appropriate Cubasis help chapter:

Best,
Lars
