I’ve been using AirPods with Dorico for several years. I don’t remember what if anything I did initially to get it to work but I always had to make sure they were connected before starting Dorico and it would work. Suddenly they have stopped working. The audio will only play through the computer speakers. Any one have a suggestion how to solve this? Thanks!
What if you go to Edit > Device Setup, in the list of ASIO drivers, do the AirPods show up there, maybe even doubled? If so, then choose the second item. Any better? If not, please do Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here. Thanks
just for the record, tested today for a user in FB group with latest Dorico and MACOS 15.3.1
While Dorico is not running:
- connect bluetooth headphones to mac
- open Audio MIDI Setup app
- from [+] sign bottom left create new Multi-Output Device
- check BT Headphones right side on the list of available output devices
— Audio Midi Setup can be closed now - Start Dorico and select the newly created device as audio output
Connecting-disconnecting BT headphones works now. No errors or crashes. I put my AirPod Pros multiple times in the case and took them out while Dorico was playing back, worked like a charm. I hardly use them for professional work but this might come in handy on travels.
I am cross-posting the link to this thread:
I was having the same issue, but I found that if I quit Dorico, then connected my bluetooth earbuds (AirPods Pro) and restarted Dorico, they were recognized in the Audio Device window, and I could disconnect and reconnect them as I wanted to. I still have to manually select the desired audio output, but they’re there.
