Applying down bow (or up bow, or other playing techniques) to many notes at once

I’m trying to engrave this passage here, which involves a lot of individual down bow markings:

So I select all my notes, then press shift-P, and type down bow:

But when I apply it, I get this:

I think this means that Dorico is assigning this entire passage to down bow, which is OK for playback, but it’s not visible, which is the entire point when engraving a score. Why didn’t Dorico put a down bow symbol on every note in the selected passage, and what’s the best way to actually do that?

There is an option to change this to show on every note (“Repeat the signs”). The option is under Continuation in the Properties panel.
