The “x” above a chord represents a tap on the soundboard/face of the guitar. I want to create an articulation for it. Is that possible?
Sorry, I didn’t see it in some of the other articulation topics..
There are a couple of ways to approach this.
You could go to Library > Music Symbols > Articulations, find an articulation you aren’t going to use in this project (maybe stress/unstress), and edit the articulation’s definition to look like what you want. Then, when you apply that articulation to a note, Dorico will display your edited version.
Another option would be to create this symbol as a playing technique.
