ASIO Guard Overload But Cpu is fine

I think I set it that way earlier when I was troubleshooting something else on my computer, and then I just left it like that. At some point I switched it back on (it’s now on).

Thanks for info. According to this thread things don’t look too good for Cubase multicore load distribution on Windows:
https://gearspace.com/board/music-computers/1422347-amd-7950x-mbp-m1-max-comparison-cubase-13-mix.html#

Like Vin (TAFKAT) wrote this goes back several years. The balancing of threads / cores hasn’t really been “optimized” as far as I know. It’s not something recent. Actually, as bad as it looks in some scenarios I think it’s better now than it used to be, if memory serves me correctly.

It also depends on what settings you have.

Hi there, I also had some horrific issues and I had to max out the Buffer Size however, to my amazement, Cubase is running like a dream and I am running a very heavy project…

Question, how did you get to 4096? I take it your sound card has these specs, right?
I am on an MOTU which maxes out at 1024.

Cheers!

Yes, the UR44C soundcard from Steinberg can run 4096 samples. What I learned is that I should have a low buffer size when recording and a high when mixing. But suddenly I just had to raise it from 2048 to 4096.

That’s good to know, many thanks! hmm, my MOTU doesn’t go that high, but things are good at the moment (fingers crossed!!!).

Yeah, I suppose, high buffer size causes latency issues, hmmm, to go that high for the DAW to just run well though… Crazy.

I have the same issue with Cubase, all runs well and then it goes to hell, but for some insane reason, I never thought to increase the bugger size…go figure…

I did this and things are finally running well.

I hope you will resolve your issue.

Hello, i spend 2 days searching for problem. I did all - CPU inspection, RAM and others to find from where this glitch coming to Cubase. Load is 15% CPU, 50% memory. So i have UR22c, i even installed old USB driver 2.1.6. The only thing i got is this

.
But still i don’t understand how to handle this :). I changed all possible settings in Cubase and i set to 2048 samples (my max).
Still it looks that problems is near. And now i looked at Cubase moment ago and again that red overload. Cubase plays about normal, but sometimes glitch appear. So still no cure. One interesting thing - Cubase stopped, but red overload still coming out. I click to reset and then on next move ( i just clicked on track) it comes again. I would say, very painful experience  .

Any solution yet?

Your issue is with graphics not cubase.

How to fix?

Verify you are using the correct and latest driver for your video card. If not, then update the driver. If there is an option for a ‘studio’ version with just the required hardware driver without all the bells and whistles then choose that one.

Video drivers are all upto date. Any other suggestions?

Are you using Latency Monitor and seeing the same thing as andriusv posted above which is the video interrupt and service taking longer than it should ? If yes then what is your video card and system specs, if not then what is your issue ?

I don’t know your specs, but the issue originally described in this thread most likely has to do with what is discussed in this recent topic, which is now conveniently disappearing in the general barrage in this forum:

This issue also seems to apply to the latest multicore Apple computers, see here:

Best,

Magnus

i reinstall the window and now things change a bit but peaking. have a look if that make sense.

I don’t know what that means. Your screenshot is cropped but it tells you right in Latency Monitor what to try next…power plan settings.

Click the link below to see how to enable Steinberg Audio Power Scheme. If that does not help you are going to need someone who can troubleshoot your PC.
