I will describe the situation, a big file from Finale.
An opera with lyrics (of course). There are no different verses and always only one text under the vocal line. Because of Finale’s specifics I pasted different shorter sections of lyrics in different verses in Lyric window and set the lyrics baselines the same for all of them. The reason of this workaround was that if any syllables were added deleted the whole text shifted to wrong position. To minimize the damage I isolated the lyrics to smaller sections.
In Dorico this workaround approach does not look good. Some sections of lyrics have different baseline.
I am asking experienced users- what would be the best strategy to get all lyrics to the same baseline? Ideally already in write mode. I haven’t gotten to engrave mode yet, I bet I can manually align stuff there too. Ideally I would like all lyrics to be in verse 1, that would solve the issue but I haven’t found a trick to get all the text from verses 2-12 to jump to Verse 1. I emphasize again that there is always only one text present (well… chorus parts with up and downstem voices there are one above and one below)
Select one lyric at the wrong baseline position and use Shift+Command+A repeatedly until all lyrics on that line are selected, then using the Properties panel, set those lyrics to line 1.
