Quick question…..I want to be able to assign a midi function to loop a part while flexloop is activated that way I can repeat a part with my church band if we decide to repeat parts on the fly. I understand that Cycle On/Off does not work while flexloop is activated. Any chance anyone has any suggestions in regards to this? I tried looking in the list of commands that can be programed but there is no loop or repeat part function. Ty for your help!
And now comes the reverse thinking and you need to find which solution fits your needs the most:
EnableDisable FlexLoop (via Actions…), or
ExitLoop (to exit current loop (via Actions…), and
can combine with Loop quantity (eg. set infinite) for specific PARTs
can combine with “simple” CYCLE-range (non-FlexLoop)
I hope you will find the best combination
Hello Ty for offering a solution to this. I see what you are saying….I just thought that it would be easier if we can just set a midi command just to repeat a part on the fly without having to “reverse” think it. However, I hear your point and I appreciate your answer!
The “select part” function seems to be a solution but it can’t be assigned to a number or button…it has to be a “dialed”….right? I am still trying to wrap my head around this system which I believe is less complicated than Ableton by many times over. We will get there!
Wait…this might solve my problem…TY for helping me! Ok….so I see that I can assign it to one part only…..can I assign different parts to the different numbers? That way I can jump at will to different sections?
I see…but how?? I press the different numbers in my keyboard but the parts do not jump around. Is there a way to assign each number to each part? If so…how? This “dialed” feature really has me confused. TY for helping me!!
I’m not sure I understand the requirement fully and depending on the answer I might have a solution.
Do you want to be able to infinitely loop currently playing part on the go with midi? If that is the case set all parts of the song to infinitely loop but keep Flexloop off. Once you decide to loop a part enable flexloop with midi and the current part will start to loop. To exit again disable flexxloop and it will continue to the next part and wont loop and continue with the rest of the song.
If the requirement is more complicated than that disregard
Ty both for trying to help me guys!! Throughly appreciated! @fkalmus@talporal. The solution that @talporal offered I think will work, I just have to find the right arrangement without the flexloop on so whenever I want to repeat a part then I can enable the flexloop. @fkalmus the keyboard that I meant was my computer keyboard that is…so if I pressed #1 then the part would jump to part 1 of the song that I assigned, same for 2, etc…
