Hi! I’m in the process of migrating a musical score from finale to Dorico. The score is 40 separate xml files, and I’m importing them into a single master score in Dorico. The score has 3 woodwind players, and they are doubling on several instruments. Here’s the issue - on some songs, there’s just one bass clarinet being played by Woodwind 3 (bass clarinet 1) However, sometimes here’s 2 bass clarinet parts, so woodwind 2 is bass clarinet 1 and woodwind 3 is bass clarinet 2. If I assign bass clarinet 1 to ww3, it stays there for every subsequent song. Is it possible to assign these or change those assignments on an individual flow? This is also occurring with Tenor as well.
You should be able to assign additional Bass Clarinet Players enough to cover all your “bases” and then (I assume you are using flows for the various movements/xml files) combine the appropriate instruments into the appropriate layouts to end up with three part layouts in which each flow has the requisite instruments assigned to each player.
(It’s easier to do than to describe. I’ll try to create a brief mockup.)
