Hello all,
I’m doing a film composition project and am trying to attach the video to my score. I know how to do it, but getting an error when I try and attach it to the flow. I’m trying to attach a .mov file and have tried an mp4 as well but keep getting this error:
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Paul
That’ll be a codec matter.
Check whether your video is of the right format:
Thanks benwiggy! Other than looking at the file extension (.mov and .mp4) I don’t know how else to check that!
Any more explaination to what a codec matter involves me doing? Or is that the file extensions?
Excuse my lack of knowledge here!
Thanks
You’ll be able to see in Get Info in the Finder.
How did you create the video?

If your video has audio, make sure the sample rate is compatible between Dorico and your video.
Yeah Get Info is showing .mov and .mp4 for the two I’ve tried
I didn’t - it’s a video I’ve been sent to write the music for
It should show more than that:
Maybe try re-saving it, or exporting it, from QuickTime Player?

I’d no idea what I was looking for! I’m seeing the following:

When exporting in QuickTime what should I pick?
Thanks
Hmm. Your video looks to be the right format, as far as I know; though video isn’t my strong suit.
What version of Dorico, and what OS?
Haha - all musicians here!
Mac is 14.2
Dorico is Version 5.0.20.2042 (Jul 5 2023)
It’s always worth using MediaInfo to check the vital statistics of any video file you’re trying to work with:
