audio clip clean up

Hey guys,

Can anyone offer advice. I wasn’t sure what its called (if it has a term) and didn’t know how to search information or video tutorials on it.

Basically I have an audio clip from a comedy show that I’d like to use for a sample and obviously there is some audience laughter over the speaking part and I was just wondering if theres any way to ‘neaten’ up the sample so its mainly just the voice coming through and the laughter either taken out or lessened some how.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I use iZoptope’s RX to clean up tracks. It’s Spectral Repair mode is magic.

However, sustained variable-level sounds will involve more skill to manage, depending upon how acoustically they are interwoven with the voice.

PM me if you want more info.

If your audio clip is stereo and the voice is panned centre, try using the Voxengo MSED plug-in to isolate the mid signal only (press the ‘Side Mute’ button on the plug-in GUI).

Thanks for your help guys. Much appreciated! I will have another look.

Even if the desired sound is not centred, use pan to place it in the centre, then mute the sides.
