When i start Dorico, audio engine is delayed start.
What if you reboot your computer and try again? There are several reasons that the audio engine might hang, so I can’t give immediately good advice.
First strategy is, click on Continue to Wait and repeat that again if the alert comes back. Do that until you waited for a total of 5 min. If until then nothing happens click on Terminate.
You are on Mac, right?
Then please try to go to
/Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins
and in there rename the two folders VST and VST3 to something else like _VST and _VST3.
If you then launch Dorico, does it launch until the Hub window? If so, please choose from the Dorico menu Help > Create Diagnostics Report and post the corresponding zip file here. Thanks
Dorico Diagnostics.zip
Thanks for the prompt reply.
My system is Windows 11 64bit 32GB.
AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Eight-Core Processor 3.20 GHz. SSD 2T.
This happened suddenly. Three days ago. I reinstalled Dorico without any result. After restart and delay 2 minutes I click on Terminate and it continues normally. Finally, the system created Dorico Diagnostics.zip (i attach it)
Thanks

Sorry for the late reply, @cccdin .
You have modified the search paths for VST2 plug-ins and by that caused a recursion. Dorico’s audio engine now searches your complete C drive for VST2 plug-ins. Therefore, please go in the Dorico Preferences to the VST Plug-ins tab and there delete in the VST2 Plug-in Paths listbox the paths
C:
and
C:/VST_Plugins
It’s OK now.
Thank you.
I’m glad to hear that. You are more than welcome.
