Volume tabs in audio events were at the top in CB 13. In 14 it is a small volume triangle bottom left. I find this awkward as it needs to ne zoomed in more than the tab. Can this be changed back to the tab?
Hello and welcome.
You’re new to the forum and probably haven’t used the search functionality of the forum yet.
Cubase 14 just received another maintenance update (14.0.20). This update introduces the changing of volume offset (aka event gain) by holding down Ctrl+Shift / Cmd+Shift and moving the mouse up and down.
Better than the old little handle.
Also, highlighting the audio work the Range tool puts that little node back at top center
Strictly speaking this is not the same thing. In Cubase we have the event gain and we have the volume envelope.
With the range tool you modify the envelope, not the event gain.
In the end both will modify the level in the same way, ie. -3dB = -3dB
Thanks for that info, @Johnny_Moneto .
Is there a circumstance where adjusting the volume envelope worth the Range Tool will give different results than adjusting the event gain?
Nah, it’s more a technicality. The range tool will change the envelope, the event gain not. If you use both together you can get up to +48dB gain if you like.
The original handle was moved to the bottom left corner of each clip. You should see a ramp symbol there. While it serves the same functionality as what you’ve requested, there have been quite a few ruffled feathers over the perceived unnecessary movement of the full clip’s gain adjustment.
With what @Johnny_Moneto was saying now in place, I believe the whole-clip gain move to the bottom-left corner was in anticipation of the new clip segment gain that was mentioned.
