Audio Export Window: Does Not Point to Mixdown Folder or Audio Folder when selected

Just updated to 14.0.20 and noticed a changed that is really screwing up my systems.

In all previous versions I’ve used, the Audio Export window, I would select “Project Mixdown Folder” in the Path, and the text in the Path would update. I could then click on it, and a “Choose Location And Filename” prompt would appear that would show me the corresponding Mixdown folder for the current project.

In 14.0.20, I select Project Mixdown Folder, click the Path, and the “Choose Location And Filename” prompt navigates to the previous folder I had selected.

This change completely negates a system I created that depends on this prompt showing me the Mixdown folder when I click the path, and makes no sense that it would be showing me a completely different folder when selected.

Is there a way to remedy this?

Apple M1 Max, Ventura 13.6.9.

Same for me in Windows 11. No one else having this issue?

Me too - following the feedback

Yes. Confirmed. Broken behaviour. Win10, C14.0.20

Issue:- Setting from drop-down options at right, is ‘stuck’ (or the chosen option is ignored.?) in ‘Path’ field → File Location area in Audio Export window and clicking inside the field.

So I deliberately tried this on C14.0.10 before updating. Results are in line with the recipe in the OP…

Anyone know if this has been fixed in 14.0.32?

I know that is hasn’t been fixed.

Same problem here on Mac Sequoia with Cubase 14. Super annoying bug.

Just downloaded the Cubase 15 demo. The issue persists. I can’t purchase any upgrades until this is fixed. @Markus_Staudt

Tested again in Cubase 15.0.10. Still doesn’t function as it did in versions prior to 14.0.20. This truly upsets my workflow, and will purchase an upgrade to 15 as soon as this is resolved. Any idea when we can expect a fix on this? @Markus_Staudt

I can imagine, very annoying if you rely on it…

Could you add a further ‘Tag’ of ‘Cubase 15’ to your original post Brian.? Filtering by using these, quickly sifts out those posts you want/don’t want to see (devs, mods and users alike). Maybe the ‘Issue’ one too, while you’re at it…

When will it get fixed.? I wouldn’t hold your breath. It’s broken behaviour, but these sadly don’t tend to carry any ‘raised’ priority within SB towers.

I don’t believe I can edit my original post, but I’ll put the tags in this comment in case that helps. Appreciate the guidance!

Ah.! Ok, that’ll be because it’s too old for editing now… should’ve thought…

Anyway, you could be slightly more cheeky and start a brand new topic (same-ish title.?), add the new tags, with brief description and a link back to this thread..!?

The mods will get wind of it soon though and they’ll either (kindly) add the tags desired to this thread and close the new one you create; or, close this thread and refer folk with a link to the new post… :upside_down_face:  :innocent: . Either way, folk can still contribute.

Good luck.! Will check back in the summer maybe; see if anything’s changed…

tbh I fail to see how this is “broken behaviour". Yes, it is different that e.g. in 12 (where it was definitely inconsistent, in some cases it was the last used folder, in some cases not), but I suspect the change was made deliberately. The “choose location and filename” dialog now (well, in C14/Win11 where I tested) chooses the project location as the starting folder in the dialog. Which makes kinda sense to me. Why, when I already selected “use project mixdown folder” before, would I want that as a starting point if I click “Choose…”? My intent is to select another folder as the output. One could argue that maybe the “last used folder” would be a better option, but that is debatable. For some cases maybe, for others not.

Or maybe I didn’t understand the problem?

No need. The current tagging is completely ok.
