I vari-audioed a clip and now the audio fade handles are not visible.
They are visible in all the other clips in the project.
Any ideas? Steinberg Chat Support for this question was pretty lame with no good answer. They said restart the computer, move it to another project, etc. None of that worked.
Thanks.
I just got the same problem. I will continue to find out…
Most likely you accidentally converted an Audio Event into an Audio Part. You can use Audio>Dissolve Part to convert it back to an Event.
Alternatively if you double+click on the Part it will open it in the Audio Part Editor where you can directly access any Audio Events in the Part.
Is there any way to turn off the fade handles?
It often gets in the way of the Range selection tool, when the mouse hovers above the fade handle.
If you convert the Audio Events into Audio Parts they won’t have the handles.
Good suggestion, but then it’s not possible to adjust the event volumes, which is the worser outcome.
Well they are both part of the same integrated level control mechanism for Audio Events which is either available or not - it doesn’t come a la cart.
You might prefer how the Level control was changed in Cubase 14. It’s now a slider along the left edge.
I do prefer the C14 slider, but it also goes away for Parts.
But it was never there for parts, not in previous versions and not in the current version.
Preferences>Event Display-Audio>Show Event Volume Control. Set it to ‘Never’.
thanks man but this isn’t it, I was referring to the Fade Handle controls that are on the top corners of events (to create fades in / out)
I don’t quite understand why that is an issue. With the Range selection tool active you can see the fades but there are no handles present - and the fades don’t interfere in any way with the selection range when you use the Range selection tool. The fades are there for visual information only.
AFAIK there’s no way to hide those, there’s only to show ‘on mouse over’.
Ah yes! You’re right. It’s actually happening because I have my tools set to Selection+Range hybrid. (by turning on that little button to the left of the selection tool in the toolkit),
Unfortunately using it this way means the fade handles do interfere with the range selection when the mouse hovers over them.
