Trying to export, via Audio Mixdown, from a Midi-file to a wav-file that was working great in Cubase 10.5 that I had before.
I’ve got an new MacBook Air, Sonoma 14.5, but when trying to export, the result show “Zero bytes” as an waveform audio.
Any ideas…?
Most likely in C10.5 you had the midi tracks assigned to a VST instrument and in C14 you don’t.
Since MIDI itself is silent, rendering it will produce nothing if the midi data is not send to something that can generate sounds.
Well, the HALion has found the same sound when I open it, it sounds the same but nothing is there when mixed down as a wav-file…
I’ll try to send a photo, I’m kanda new here
Show a screencap of the audio export mixdown window.
You have record monitor on for the midi track…did you try with it off?
No, I did not have that on and also tried to put out “Record Enable” but the same result…
I had it on on some other tracks so now trying with them Off…
You export range looks to be set to locators. Have you placed locators covering the bit you need to export?
I have
Try to render it in a different way…does rendering the Halion track rather than stereo out work…maybe try not to do a mono downmix in case some weirdness is nulling the left/right to silence.
I’ll try them both…
Have tried so many things now that hasn’t worket, but not those two!
To be continued…
If all else fails, make a duplicate project of just that midi and Halion track and share it so someone else can try…I can give it a go…but not for a few hours.
That is very kind of you!!
I can absolute do it on the old computer with no problem but wanted it to work on this new one, also with the updated version to Cubase 13.
Thank you for all the time and ideas!!
I think you had it right that the HALion was not updated in the new Mac but it sounded real before but I don’t know…
Thank you so much, now it works!!
