Could it be bc ur using an M1 and the rest of us are using Intel-based Macs?

I have an old 2017 iMac with Ventura as well, and that one behaves the same way like my M1. I just exercised the whole procedure with the iMac again.

If this situation is unique to me, I suppose it might have something to do with remnants of Adobe Creative Cloud, which I tried to eradicate from this loaner Mac. (I wasn’t able to run the uninstaller.) Not a big deal, just curious.

I doubt that it has to do with Adobe Creative Cloud. On the other hand I also have no better explanation…

Just following up on this: Scanning at startup seems to be consistently working as designed for me now. I bet it was the update to Catalina that did it.

@Mark_Johnson , it’s hard to tell for certain, but let’s assume like that.

I’m still needing to do the manual work-around and I’ve updated my MacBook Pro to Sonoma
