Some audio tracks respond to direct offline audio processing but some have stopped responding - even though they were responding before because the list of what I did is still there -
Any advice much appreciated
If you look at the Direct Offline Dialogue:
- Is Auto Apply activated?
- Are the FX in the list on the left turned on or off (white/yellow)?
Do you work with shared copies of these affected events by any chance?
In the project window: Is there a Wave Symbol in the upper right corner of the events that are not responding?
Thanks for prompt response.
Auto Apply is not activated. I tried both ways; the process jumped into the list but nothing happened to the waveform.
Everything in the FX list is white.
I am using some audio stems in more than one project. Maybe this is messing it up and I need to adjust something to compensate…?
When you say -
‘In the project window: Is there a Wave Symbol in the upper right corner of the events that are not responding?’
- do you mean the little images on the tracks? Do these indicate that processing has happened? There are some images there but nothing that looks like a wave symbol.

Does that mean you tried with and without Auto Apply?
Yes, the waveform on the event display indicates that it is processed.
I tried with and without auto apply; neither worked.
Some tracks have been processed, but I should be able to process them again I think?
Could the problem be sharing the same stems in different projects as you mentioned?
EDITS (better ideas & clarification):
Is the track or the event itself by any chance locked? If you hover over the event it would look like this:
You can change it here: Edit > Lock / Unlock
If the track is locked you can click on the symbol in the inspector
In these cases you could see the previous list of FX applied within Direct Offline Processing but not add any further processes.
If Lock is NOT the culprit maybe try to rule out that there are complications somewhere along the way due to denied access rights by creating a new event, clip & file with Edit > Render in Place.
Edit > Functions > Convert to Real Copy:
Not necessarily related to the issue but since I mentioned it: If the event was not an indenpendent copy than Direct Offline Processing would apply the same processes to all shared copies. By converting a particular event into a real copy you avoid this behaviour.
Hi Reco 29
I used render in place and that solved it - offline processing came back.
Thanks
