I am having difficulty re-activitating my Steinberg Activation Manager and Download Assistant. it automatically opens in microsoft Edge (a browser i don’t normally use) and comes up with the message telling me I need to authorise Steinberg Activation manager but when I click the button, nothing happens and I have no idea what I need to do. please can you help. I am using Windows 10. I’ve been using Dorico for a few years now but it logged me out for some reason and I am now having to reactivate everything.
Steinberg Activation Manager (SAM) will launch your default system browser. If that is set to Edge, and you would prefer to launch your preferred browser, I would recommend changing your system browser by following these instructions:
If you’d prefer to keep Edge as your system browser, then you might need to check your “protocol handlers” for SAM by launching this URL in Edge:
edge://settings/content/handlers?search=handler
Ensure “Allow sites to ask to become default handlers for protocols (recommended)” is ticked and any protocol handlers for SAM are not shown in the “Blocked” section below.

I have this setting in Edge turned off, but Edge still refuses to open Download Assistant, and it always opens Edge although by default browser is Brave.
What’s more interesting, Activation Manager is opening authentication window in Brave, and that works perfectly.
