Authenticator app for Steinberg Activation Manager? Where do I download that?

I’m trying to login to the Steinberg Activation Manager, but as you can see, I’m being asked to enter a 6 digit code that’s apparently sent to an Authenticator app. What app are they talking about? Where do we download it? This is the first I’ve heard about it.

This is a security feature named “two factor authentication” or 2FA.

You need an authenticator app like Microsoft or Google authenticator. You can get them in the Apple or Google appstore.

The question here is, if you haven’t configured your account for 2FA, why is it asking for a code? You need to configure it actively and connect the authenticator app to your account.

It’s crap like this why I dumped Cubase and switched to Reaper and never looked back, Steinberg is the worse experience I ever had, with all their software. I’m just trying to update my Halion, so of course all my Steinberg apps logged me out and I had to use my limited codes to get back in! Who does this to customers?

You are not making any sense. What are your “limited codes”? Are you saying that you failed to remember/save your login information and that is somehow Steinberg’s fault?

I don’t know “who does this to customers” because I can’t even figure out what “this” is.
