Automation Follows Events - "Bypass" Parameters Corrupted

Quite.

This bug has cost me days. While trying to do paid work.

It’s like a mosquito bite you can’t stop scratching once you start!

My previous post updated with a final image showing why I think this may be happening. For the developers to look at.

Well, yes. I’ve been scratching it for 18 months.

Thanks for those illustrations, which might go someway to explain this mess:

Mark, moving forward I recommend you use “preview” and then “punch” with “fill” set to “loop” to get automation points for bypass set at the edges of events. I think that way you’ll likely be more safe, if not completely. I have a macro set so that I can simply click on the event and trigger the macro which engages those automation parameters as well as sets loop range to selected event(s).

Just a tip.

Thanks. But it shouldn’t be necessary to work around. It is - surely - an obvious and damaging bug.

And part of my problem is that I am working with older projects at present. The automation is all there. I just need to be able to edit it without this destruction occurring.

Hello - is there any movement on a fix for this bug? Big re-conform project coming up again, and I am dreading it… thanks.

Your thread isn’t marked “issue”. Add that tag or get a moderator to do it.

Oh, good grief. How do I do that?

S’OK. Found it. So after all this time and discussion, it’s not been looked at because I didn’t know to add a tag? Bonkers. :frowning:

Anyway - couldn’t edit this thread. So started a new one, tagged it “issue” and linked to here.

The weeks I’ve spent working around this…

Please (getting rather desperate, now, tbh) - any fix on the horizon for this damaging, time-consuming bug?

Thankyou!

Mark

Hi,

I belive, this is fixed in version 14.

That would be nice. It would have been nice to have it in an incremental… any idea when we will see 14? The lack of communication on this has been as painful as the bug.

Hi,

No one is allowed to say the date before the official release.

Yes, I know. And that is fair enough. But I reported this appalling bug over two years ago. It makes re-conforming of long edits (films / TV episodes) an absolute nightmare. I cannot be the only one to have been bitten by it, surely?

Anyway… looking forward to N14, then. With bated breath and high hopes.

Hi,

I have just re-tested with Cubase 14 and it works as expected here.

That also is frustrating. I had to do a reconform over the weekend. The edits took a few minutes. Clean up took a day.
