Automation help needed

Hi,

The automation in C15 still gives me headaches.

For example:

when i select the option “Show All Used Automation” i get 3 or more white (unused) lines for EVERY track in my huge orchestral template just because those tracks have blocks on them where that CC is used somewhere. Those CCs aren’t used in the automation but C15 still creates automation lanes for them. very annoying

And “Show All Used Automation” is global. It doesn’t work on a few selected tracks.

I tried creating a preset for that in the Logical Editor but i can’t get it done.

Am i missing something here? I f someone found a solution for this please tell me.

Do you mean the MIDI CC is in use in the MIDI Part as the Controller Lane, but not as an Automation Track in the Arranger/Project window?

What do you want to achieve exactly? Could you attach your current Logical Editor preset?

exactly, once you use a CC in a MIDI part on a MIDI track or an Instrument track this happens

Is this behaviour new in Cubase 15?

No, it is not. The same thing happens in Nuendo also in older versions.

I’m in the process of transforming all my Expressions Maps to the new system and then you run into these things more often, hence my questions here.

What is new in C15 is that once you put your cursor somewhere in the middle of a track, the correct Articulation is not selected. It works only correct once you put the cursor at the start of the MIDI block where the Articulation is actually triggered.

Activating Latch Mode in the Articulation Map Editor doesn’t change it.

In C14 with the old system, you could drop you cursor anywhere and the correct articulation was triggered.

I think your Automation lanes maybe recording information from your MIDI parts. Try playing with the settings in the MIDI Controller Automation Setup dialogue box as illustrated…
