Automation is lacking in a few areas… here’s some ideas that’d make things a lot easier I think:
1. Ability to write automation without pressing play.
You can currently right click some VST parameters and have it “show automation lane” but this isn’t the case for most VSTs that aren’t Steinberg ones. Would be great to at least in write mode touch a parameter and have it add a lane instead of hitting play, touch, stop, then tweak.
2. Overwrite/overdub in write without play
Similarly it would be great if you could select an automation point and tweak the parameter and have it write “live” without pressing play
I’m sure there’s a few other things but these are the things I’m most frustrated by when wanting to quickly automate a vst parameter.
