Automation showing or hiding questions

Automation Questions here.
So, first off, when are the designers of Cubase going to allow one automation to be shown on top of the wave, instead having to have a lane open just to show a volume? It takes double screen real estate to do this simple thing when all the other contenders already allow this?

I have a strange situation that just recently started. I have a command setup to show/hide automation and volume is the most used and the only one that I want to show when I open the automation. Without knowing why, or choosing some configuration to do this, when i choose my show automation now, two, three or four lanes open. I did not intentionally click in any automation changes to these projects other than volume changes. I do a lot of radio commercials where all I need is a quick volume change on the musicbed beginning and ending. Instead of VOLUME ONLY, I’m getting irritated by having to close multiple automation lanes every time I open one.

Any ideas on how to limit the command to only show volume lane, or better yet, show volume on top of the wavefile lane, like Logic, Studio One, DP all do as a basic in their software?

Hi,

Ensure, there is no other automation node in the other automation tracks. You can also hide the other automation tracks manually. Next time, they won’t appear anymore.

Yes, especially for the volume only, there is the Audio Event Volume. Select Draw Tool, then you can draw the automation within the Audio Event.

I would guess, the ducking should work here for you.
